| REGRET (1) Definitions: i. A feeling of sadness or disappointment that you have because of something that has happened or something that you have done or not done. ii. The emotion arising from a wish that some matter or situation could be different from what it is. The emotion may be accompanied by sadness, remorse, disappointment, dissatisfaction, etc., and may arise from something done or said or from some failure to do or say something, or be a response to a general situation, or be felt on behalf of someone else. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements would be in. 1. Bad situation is true. That is, you have no doubt about the thing (= happening, action or inaction) (REAL NEGATIVE). 2. Your efforts were inadequate or there was an inability to make an input that may have changed situation (NOT A BASELESS CONCERN). 3. Not easy for you to cope in the circumstance. And inevitable situation will not be comfortably tolerated or condoned (DISTURBED, WORRIED). 4. Situation results or will result or resulted in a loss or losses which is/are/were irrecoverable (THOROUGH MISS). 5. Situation is not or has not been finally given up on. That is, there is still some sort of hope, somehow, somewhere ... (ANY SILVER LININGS?). 6. Valuable lesson or lessons is/are learned from the situation, whether or not this/these leads to an action, inaction or overreaction. And a repeat of thing that caused sadness, etc. (if applicable) will not happen.
