| RUMOUR MILL Definition: (especially North American English) The people in a particular place or profession who spread rumours. ______________________________________________________________________ * All nine elements would be in. 1. Current - always on the 'listen out' and so hears the latest. 2. 'Correct' - and never attempts to verify claims or accusations. 3. Complete - all members will get to hear the tales or stories. 4. Consistent - talkers will insist on tales being real; no recant. 5. Competent - tale bearers speedily spreads 'news'; fast and quick. 6. Controversial - people won't have to provide a proof or an evidence. 7. Constant - regularly on the prowl for news; permanently buzzing. 8. Cheap - always agog, at its best; unashamedly passing on untruths and/or lies. 9.
