| SENIOR CITIZEN Definition: An older person, especially somebody who has retired from work. People often call somebody a 'senior citizen' to avoid saying that they are old or using the word 'old-age pensioner'. ______________________________________________________________________ * Any of the conditions below should NOT apply. 1. Retirement was not of own volition, i.e., he/she was threatened, tricked, cajoled, intimidated, blackmailed etc, to retire. 2. Compulsorily retired before due date ! 3. Retirement was converted from compulsory to voluntary. 4. Retirement was converted to voluntary from a dismissal, 'sack', cashiered etc. 5. Retirement was after serving over the maximum period/years statutorily allowed, no matter the circumstances that led to that. ..................... in the period after retirement ..................... 6. Retiree is frustrated (angry with self and/or former employer, for whatever reason or reasons). 7. Not engaged (not employed or is unemployable). 8. Not productive, i.e. gives (and gets) nothing positive, if in a vocation, profession, or (new) employment. 9. Hopeless (connect to #6, 7 & 8). 10. Miserable-no nest egg, probably no responsible offspring (if applicable), and available welfare package, if any, is 'inadequate'; 'hungry'.
