| SOLACE (2) Definition: (formal) A feeling of emotional comfort when you are sad or disappointed; a person or thing that makes you feel better or happier when you are sad or disappointed. ______________________________________________________________________ * All six elements should be in. * This is not about the feeling. 1. Person or thing is specific and identifiable. That is, human or object is known for sure and will be recognized when seen or whenever or wherever contact is made with him/her/it. 2. Person provides an assurance or the output/result expected from him or her is sure. And/or functionality or effectiveness of thing is not in doubt. That is, person or thing will be reliable or dependable. In other words, 'solace' won't be the source or cause of another kind of sadness or disappointment. _______________ WHO ? WHAT ? 3. Person or thing will not directly intervene to affect or effect a change in the sad or disappointing situation; it's about the impact or influence and/or meaning of person or thing. 4. Exists or is present, that is, remains for the whole duration that sadness or disappointment lasts. ____________ HE LIVES ... What a friend we have in Jesus, ... ? 5. Person or thing will be expected to be reachable, accessible, or available and usable, whenever and however desired. 6. Human will always do right or provide exactly what is needed, not indecisive or pretentious - true. And/or thing will never go wrong, won't malfunction or lock when object, machine or equipment, facility, etc., is expected to effectively perform roles or be useful - safe. ____________ IT AVAILS. | |
