| STANDING OVATION Definition: If a speaker or performer gets a standing ovation when they have finished speaking or performing, the audience stands up to clap in order to show its admiration or support. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements should be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for the people clapping. 2. Speech or performance is considered as thoroughly deserving. 3. Audience listened to talk fully or watched performance completely. 4. Everyone will be upstanding, except for the physically-challenged. 5. People standing and clapping continue act for considerable period. 6. No 'automation' in the actions. That is, not a 'synchronized' act. 7. Serves purpose(s), exactly as hoped for, without an unplanned loss being suffered by those who voluntarily stand to clap. 8.
