| TRASH TALK Definition: (North American English, informal) A way of talking which is intended to make somebody, especially an opponent, feel less confident. ______________________________________________________________________ * All seven elements would be in. 1. Purposeful and necessary for talker. 2. Manner of talk is aggressive, threatening, hurried or impatient, unfriendly, etc., giving little room for a questioning, reflection, an adequate response, etc. by the opponent. 3. 'Attack', that is, the content of talk hits at the strengths, advantages, strategies, etc. of the opponent's position. And vehemently condemns all that opponent stands for. 4. Details of talk are 'revealing'. That is, comments, remarks, etc. made by trash talker contains no lies or half-truths. In other words, the things said will be what opponent did not desire to hear. 5. Evidence or proof of what is claimed or alleged will never be provided, even if it can be made available to back the talk. 6. (Reserved.) (Opponent is not someone with an acute inferiority complex prior the talk. And does not have a physical challenge.) 7.
