| WHITE LIE Definition: A harmless or small lie, especially one that you tell to avoid hurting somebody. ______________________________________________________________________ * All eight elements would be in. 1. Purposeful, in the opinion of liar ! 2. Considered a necessity to be untruthful (connect to #1). 3. Not supported by an evidence or proof. That is, falsehood is/was only verbally or orally told. 4. Will not be admitted as an untruth, or declared as a half-truth, if liar is directly asked to confirm its truthfulness. 5. There is a certainty that the other person will be hurt, if the real truth is told (to emphasize). 6. Untruth will never be discovered later as a lie. 7. Serves purpose(s). That is, lie achieves objective(s). And person who believed, actually ends up showing love, care, concern, etc., on the basis of 'truth' heard. 8. Wrong (= lie) is hardly ever remembered afterwards; lie could even be immediately forgotten; may not bother the conscience. ________________________ ... it's STILL A 'SIN'. | |
