| SELECTIVE JUSTICE Definition: In jurisprudence, selective prosecution is a procedural defense in which a defendant argues that they should not be held criminally liable for breaking the law, as the criminal justice system discriminated against them by choosing to prosecute. ______________________________________________________________________ Quote: "Laws grind the poor, and rich men rule the law". - Oliver Goldsmith. * All ten elements, unfortunately, would sadly, be in. 1. Cause(s) or reason(s) - not legal grounds or legal footing - will be specific and identifiable. 4. Abuse of court processes, disrespect for practice procedures, etc. all prevalent in situation. 5. Rule of law will be crushed in the circumstances, by clearly very illegal and unlawful methods. 6. Judgments or rulings will disregard the stipulations of the law (to emphasize, connect to #4 & #5). 7. Proceedings at whatever level are usually rushed. leaving no room or enough time for adjournment, etc. 8. The society will suffer some substantial loss as a direct outcome of discriminatory prosecution. 9. End result of action and activities will be an affront or assault on justice itself (to emphasize). 10.
